"It is not your responsibility to finish the work of perfecting the world, but you are not free to desist from it either." -Rabbi Tarfon, Pirke Avot 2:21

At Wire and Honey, we believe in giving back to the community in any way that we can. We knew from the beginning that we wished to have a philanthropic business model in which we would donate a portion of all proceeds to charity. The problem was deciding what charity we wanted to support. There were so many we loved!
That is where YOU come in!
Every month we choose a new charity to support. Sometimes we choose organizations that are meaningful to us but often times we turn to you and ask where you would like to see your money donated. We want our customers to be involved in our philanthropy and have a voice and be passionate about the organizations we report. So, if you have a charity that we absolutely need to hear about, tell us! We love your input!

One charity we work very closely with is Shoes That Fit.
Shoes That Fit began in Claremont, CA as the vision of just one person and today, is the largest national organization of its kind. The goal of STF is to tackle one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving children in need new athletic shoes, giving these children more dignity, joy, and ensuring they are prepared to learn, play, and thrive. They have donated over 1.7 million pairs of new shoes across the country since 1992!

For a non-profit that accepts no government funding and gives 90% of donations directly to school children through a vast network of volunteer run local grassroots chapters, STF is uniquely efficient and effective in their life-changing operations.

School staff has reported to STF that of the children participating in the program:
  • 88.4% show an increase in self-esteem
  • 71.7% participate significantly more in physical activities
  • 62.8% have better behavior in all aspects of school and learning abilities
  • 44.1% report higher attendance.

We chose STF as our charity of the month in November 2017, and decided soon after that we wanted to bring the program to Baltimore. So in 2018 we introduced our first STF tee design, with 100% of proceeds going towards our goal of providing shoes for 100 students. With your help we were able to reach our goal, and delivered 100 brand new pairs of shoes to students in Baltimore City.

In 2019 we introduced a new design, and set a new goal. We ended up being able to provide 184 brand new shoes.

We look forward to being able to provide over 200 shoes in 2020!
With your help we can do it!
