As a boy mom, I often find myself drooling over all the ultra feminine options out there and dreaming of dressing my own little lady. Then, my husband tells me that having a second child for the sole purpose of dressing her is not an option. Kill joy. So, I will continue lusting over outfits that will never make their way into our home and will instead share them with you. I apologize to your wallet ahead of time because I guarantee that you are going to want allllll the things.
1. Gladiator Moccs by Urbemm
If you don't own any shoes from Urbemm then you are seriously missing out. We currently own 4 pairs with a 5th on the way annnnnnnd I *might* be begging her to make a pair of these beauties in my size. The craftmanship is incredible and you won't find these unique, high quality designs anywhere else. Even better, their shoes last FOREVER so they can easily be passed down to younger siblings. Definitely worth the investment!
2. Tutu from Tin + Ella
To say that I am obsessed with the tutus from Tin + Ella would be an understatement. They have everything from sweet and whimiscal tutus to punk rock glam tutus to mommy & me sets. And you HAVE to check out their signature ombre tutus. I want them all.
3. Fringe Romper from HipsterBearWear
Something about the simplicity of these rompers make me swoon. Some brands go over the top with patterns and embellishments but HipsterBearWear has mastered the art of "less is more."
4. Katerina Scoop Back Crop from Magpie Co.
The Katerina Scoop Back Crop from Magpie Co is THE top for summer. Influenced by ballet styles, these tops are as soft and luxuriously comfy as they come. They pair perfectly with skirts and bloomers and even jean cutoffs to suit the spectrum from the girliest to the most adventurous of little ladies. This will be a summer staple for sure.
5. May Flowers Leotard from Xaria and Co
Leos are everywhere this season. This floral beauty from Xaria and Co is my absolute favorite. They are soft, stretchy and can be worn for daily play, gymnastics, or dance class. A gorgeous piece that is also multifunctional? Count me in.
6. Crown of the Month Club from Glitter + Wit
Okay, okay. I know I typically rage against the whole princess stereotype but I would totally purchase these crown headbands for my son, too. Your little lady can love princesses and still aspire to bust through the glass ceiling as an adult. These are just too cute to pass up on.
7. Mustard Scallop Romper from Pistol and Arrow
I'm not even kidding when I say that if I could squeeze my body into this little slice of perfection I would never take it off. I adore absolutely everything about this romper. The color. The scallop detail. The halter neck. I'm in love.
8. Boho Crossbody Bag from Petite Hero
If your daughter is anything like my son then she is probably obsessed with purses. My son LOVES carrying a purse. Whenever we leave the house he typically shoves all of his "essentials" into my bag. Our friends at Petite Hero are putting an end to your back issues due to heavy purses by creating the most adorable little bags for your little one to carry. These bags are handstitched from genuine leather and are made to transition from a crossbody bag for toddlers to a shoulder bag for older children. You will get years of use out of this beauty!
9. Bloomers from Lovey Lake
There is a reason bloomers have withstood the test of time, and these mustard beauties from Lovey Lake are certainly helping the cause. Bloomers literally never go out of style. I'm sure we all have baby photos of us rocking a pair or two. Not only are they adorable but they are cool and comfortable in breathable cotton. They transition seamlessly into fall with tights and a chunky sweater. A definite must have this summer!
10. Hair Ties from Happy Little Fin
Happy Little Fin will become your new go-to stop for hair accessories for both you and your littles. These gorgeous, genuine leather bows can be made as hair ties, hair clips, or headbands. We all know what a pain long hair can be during the hot summer months and Happy Little Fin has a combination to fit every need and outfit.
Can I just say it was really, really hard to name just 10 essentials. There are so many amazing, handmade, mom-run shops out there and I wish I could name them all. I guess that just means we will have to eventually do a part 2, and 3, and 4...
Thank you so much for supporting handmade! What other kind of small shop goodies would you like to see featured?
