Elegant, clean, and modern. This week's Friday Favorite embodies those words. The Little Posh Co offers handmade, heirloom quality children's clothing. Owner and designer Liyah Shannon shares insight in to her business with us.
You may have noticed on our Instagram page, this week's Friday Favorite taking over our feed earlier in the week. Jess Pollard of 28th Ave. is one of our favorite people. She is beyond talented and offers hand drawn/lettered designs available on stickers, tees, tumblers, and more. She designs fabric and occasionally offers hand made clothing in her shop. Jess also runs a Facebook group that supports and guides small businesses. And somehow she manages to find time to study to become a doula, as she is a staunch maternal health advocate. She is the definition of a Boss!
I'm going to be honest here, I am super new to the whole accessories game. I've always thought I had a pretty decent fashion sense but I've relied heavily on my tattoos and fun shoes as accessories. However, over the past year or so I have slowly been dipping my toes into the world of accessorizing and I'm a little disappointed in myself for waiting for so long. On my hunt for fun accessories I stumbled upon Inspired by Adrian Denise and fell in love. Earrings are my go-to at the moment but Adrian has a ton of other amazing options such as hair clips, bracelets, and more. I'm still a bit timid about what I can pull off and I love that Adrian also has a blog on her site with fun outfit and accessory inspo. Meet this week's favorite, Inspired by Adrian Denise!
If you've been in Michael's lately then I'm sure you've seen the gorgeous planner stickers from Capitol Chic Designs. Their line of stickers includes dolls that represent every ethnicity and incorporate details such as hair wraps, hair styles, clothing and accessories to give them each their own unique personality. There is truly a sticker for everyone and Capitol Chic Designs provides the inclusiveness that the planner community, and the world, so desperately needs. You can even get a custom doll that looks just like you!
If you follow along on our Instagram page, then you likely saw this week's Friday Favorite taking over our feed earlier in the week. It's no secret that Typical Black Tees is one of our all time favorite small shops. Not only is owner Nicole McCrimmon an incredible business owner but she is the founder of Brown Babes Rep, Too, a group that advocates for diversity and representation in the small shop world and beyond. She is, in every sense of the word, magic.
This week's Friday Favorite is especially awesome because she's local! Meet Dominique, owner of Ari and Ali, and check out all of her rad upcycled creations.
I have an anxiety disorder and the mouth of a sailor so it's no surprise that I fell in love with this week's Friday Feature Viva Rebel. I pretty much always carry a worry stone in my pocket to rub when I'm feeling anxious. Add swear words to my worry stone and it's like carrying around my own little foul mouthed therapist to help me through the day. For those of you badass rebels, this one is for you!
I don't know if you know this or not but #YouNeedButtons.
You are not going to want to miss this week's Friday Favorite, Crochet Me This. Forget everything you think you know about crochet. Crystal has a talent and a product catalog you haven't seen elsewhere.
Happy Friday, friends! It can be so hard to navigate the small shop world when you want to be conscientious about where you spend your money. So, I decided to start a fun weekly post to share my favorite small businesses with you. All of the businesses we will share in this series will be shops that are socially conscious and fucking amazing. Our first feature shop is no exception! Avenue261 is a brand that believes that ALL women have a voice. Their stories deserve to be heard. They believe that, together, women can do anything. Everyday women are changing the world with their voice, their resilience, and their convictions. They are dedicated to helping these women be heard. And how do they do it? Through the most GORGEOUS vegan leather earrings. Those who know me know I almost never wear jewelry, but I have a drawer full of Avenue261 because they are my go-to for a night out. I know you will love them just as much as I do! So I am going to let Nicke tell you more!
