It's Okay Not to Be Okay

We're mothers. We're the ones expected to stay. We're the ones who have to hold everything together. We're the rock, the glue. We're nurses, maids, teachers, lawyers, mediators, judges...we're strong! But sometimes we aren't.

Don't Tell Me to Smile

It doesn’t matter how much, as women, we give. We are still expected to give more and more. And when there is nothing left, we are expected to still give service, with a smile.

Dear 45

You know, I have a real problem with President Trump. Shocking, I know. And quite frankly, I don’t know where to even start. It’s the blatant racism, the despicable hatred of women, the lying, the collusion with Russia, the inevitable blow-up with North Korea, the NFL argument, the twitter ridiculousness, and I mean, I could go on. I remember last November. It was almost a year ago, but I remember it so well. I was up until 2a.m. crying and drinking wine. I could not believe that a person who campaigned on hate won on the premise of making America great again. I still can’t wrap my brain around it.

Why I Will Continue to Paint My Son's Nails

I do not know if their parents are to blame or the cultural they are brought up in. All I know is that as a society we are struggling to accept one another, whether it is based on religious choices, sexual preference, gender identities or political affiliations. We struggle to accept each other as adults because we are taught from such a young age what is “right” and what is “wrong”, what is “normal” and “okay."
