Has anyone ever recommended a book to you that you left you baffled as to why you'd never heard of it before? That was my reaction to this week's novel, The Good House by Tananarive Due. Why this isn't a horror classic that people are screaming about is beyond me, because this novel is absolutely brilliant. Book 8/52.

Friday Favorites: Typical Black Tees
If you follow along on our Instagram page, then you likely saw this week's Friday Favorite taking over our feed earlier in the week. It's no secret that Typical Black Tees is one of our all time favorite small shops. Not only is owner Nicole McCrimmon an incredible business owner but she is the founder of Brown Babes Rep, Too, a group that advocates for diversity and representation in the small shop world and beyond. She is, in every sense of the word, magic.

2020 Reading Challenge: The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle
Easily one of the most engrossing, mesmerizing books I've ever had the pleasure to read. This week's edition (Book 7/52) was the The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. I don't want to go as far as to call this book a masterpiece but...it was a masterpiece.
2020 Reading Challenge: Simon Vs. The Homosapiens Agenda
For the 4th week (and 6th book) of the 2020 reading challenge I decided to venture into the world of YA literature and finally read fan-favorite Simon vs. The Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I am SO HAPPY I chose this book.
Friday Favorites: Viva Rebel
I have an anxiety disorder and the mouth of a sailor so it's no surprise that I fell in love with this week's Friday Feature Viva Rebel. I pretty much always carry a worry stone in my pocket to rub when I'm feeling anxious. Add swear words to my worry stone and it's like carrying around my own little foul mouthed therapist to help me through the day. For those of you badass rebels, this one is for you!

4 books down, 48 to go. For week 2 of the 2020 Reading Challenge I decided to get personal and focus on mental health.
