As a white mom to a white son I can empathize what it is like to be raising a black son in America but there is no way that I can ever truly know how it feels. That is why I jumped at the chance when one of our brand reps asked to write a guest piece on the topic. I had tears in my eyes when I was reading. She had tears while she was writing. It's a moving piece that will help to give a little perspective to life as a parent of a black child in America in 2016.
Hello Wire and Honey readers! I'm Kristina, and I blog vintage and retro fashion over at Eccentric Owl. Today I am sharing another way to stretch your wardrobe, by taking one skirt and styling it for all four seasons of the year! This gorgeous vintage skirt from Cut and Chic vintage has long been one of my favorite skirts. But I find that I often only wear it in spring and summer, and wondered if there was a way to make it last all year long. It turns out, there is! Read ahead to see how I'd style it through every season.
What in the world is Wire and Honey? What does it MEAN?! We get that question a lot. A lot, a lot. And while I absolutely LOVE hearing people's guesses of the origin of our name I think it's time to give a little back story of our brand.

I've always had an offbeat style and have never been the type to get the traditional mom cut or to rock the mom bun. I have been dying to try some fantasy colors in my hair but have been super nervous about the upkeep. Let's face it, having kids makes it a little more difficult to get to the salon regularly, let alone as often as it takes to maintain a fantasy color. Fun colors are amazing but they fade FAST. That is why I am so stoked to share this new product I found! Just so you know, I have been in no way compensated to write this review. The company doesn't even know I am writing it. I just love it so much that I wanted to share it in case there are others of you out there who have been itching for some mermaid hair!
The 4th of July is quickly approaching. Call me a cornball, but I love a good theme outfit. So much so, in fact, that I decided to make this week's Top 10 completely dedicated to a 4th of July theme. Check out a few of my fave patriotic items from around the interwebs!
I was super empathetic towards the "gorilla mom." I have a toddler of my own and I know how fast he can be. I couldn't believe the hate and vitriol she was receiving after what had to have been the single most terrifying and traumatizing day of her life. I guarantee she was wracked with guilt far before the internet warriors took to their keyboards. Although, if I am being completely honest, though I could empathize with the woman I still thought, deep down, it wouldn't happen to Brady. But here we are, less than 2 weeks later, and it did. It happened to me.
This month our resident DIY'er is back with a new fun recipe for you! Check out Jade's DIY blackhead remover. This one looks interesting. I can't wait to try!
Today, I am going to get personal. More personal than I have been with most of my friends IRL. Today, I open up an old wound. Thirteen years ago, I was the Stanford girl.
Summer, summer, summertime. Time to sit back and unwind. If you weren't singing that as you were reading then something is wrong with you. The sun has FINALLY decided to show its beautiful face here in the Northeast after weeks of rain and cold. How about we celebrate the lift of my seasonal depression with a little small shop and blog roundup? Woot! Grab a summer shandy, sit out on the deck, and check out a few of our faves.
