As a mom, I ask myself everyday, “How do I know if we are raising a good human?” This question pokes at me daily--several times per day. I have so many hopes and dreams for our son but, at the end of the day, all I really care about is that he grows into a kind and empathetic person who genuinely cares about people. All people. And that is what lies at the heart of Wire and Honey. Our hope is to create clothing that inspires social change through your (and our!) tiny humans.
We believe it is never too early to teach your children the values of love, compassion, diversity, and acceptance. We strive to make clothing that addresses social issues in kid friendly ways. Our tees allow for teachable moments and honest conversations about issues that affect children all over our city, country, and the world. We don’t just want your children to wear our clothing, we want them to know WHY they are wearing it. These conversations will spark many questions and thoughts from all of our children, helping them become aware, compassionate, empathetic, and open minded. We are so excited to raise the next generation of world changers alongside you!
Who are we personally? I’m Rah, a mom, crazy hairless-cat lady, Golden Girls connoisseur, and former middle school history and English teacher. Steve, the other half of our duo, is a dad, web developer, Baltimore Orioles fanatic, and shirt printer extraordinaire. Finally, the backbone of our business, our son Brady. He’s basically the most amazing kid to ever walk the planet—not that we are biased or anything. We live in Baltimore, Maryland and love our city more than words can express.
After I had our son I was hit HARD with Post-Partum Depression and Post-Partum Anxiety. I ended up leaving my career to focus on my mental health but quickly realized that I missed the creative outlet of teaching. That’s how Wire and Honey began. I never in a million years dreamed that this hobby would turn into a career that I adore. We have evolved from a shop with a few fun, pop culture designs to a brand that represents all the issues that we are passionate about. We have been able to use our business to not only raise social awareness but to donate thousands of dollars to nonprofits that are not only dear to our hearts, but are dear to yours as well. Our dream is to eventually use this business to start a nonprofit of our own so that we can give back to the city that we love so dearly.
From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for stopping by and checking out our shop! Together, we can change the world.
